Please note: Fixlens is an independent app and is not affiliated with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the PM Surya Ghar scheme or any DISCOM. Upload requirements are set by the official national portal at pmsuryaghar.gov.in and can change. Always check the current requirements there before you upload.
Why the photo matters
After a rooftop plant is installed, the vendor submits installation details and photographs so the DISCOM can inspect the plant and the subsidy can move forward. Installer guides based on the scheme's manual describe a photograph of the plant with the consumer that shows geo-coordinates. A photo without visible coordinates, or taken in a way that hides the plant, is a common reason for back-and-forth.
How to take a clear installation photo
- Get a GPS fix on the roof. Open Fixlens on the rooftop, not inside the house, and wait until the accuracy figure settles.
- Frame the whole array. Stand back so the panels and mounting structure are visible. Include the consumer if the requirement asks for it.
- Use the Standard template. It shows coordinates, address, date and time and a map, which covers what reviewers look for.
- Shoot in daylight and keep the stamp area clear of glare.
- Check the result in the Fixlens album before you leave the site.
A photo set worth keeping for every job
Beyond what the portal asks for, a full set protects you if questions come up later:
- Whole array, plus a close-up of the module label
- Inverter and its serial number label
- Earthing, lightning arrester and cable routing
- Net meter after installation by the DISCOM
- Handover photo with the consumer
With Fixlens Pro you can put your company logo on every stamp and turn the set into a PDF report to hand over to the customer.
Before you upload
- Check the file type and size the portal accepts at the time you upload. Requirements have included PDF files with a size limit.
- Use the official portal or app for the actual submission.
- Keep the original stamped photos on your phone until the subsidy is released.
