House stage photos with GPS and date

For beneficiaries, masons, contractors and field staff who want their own dated, located record of a house being built.

In short
  • Official PMAY geotagging uses the scheme's own apps
  • Keep your own record of each stage from the same spot
  • Ask before including people in photos

Official geotagging is separate. Under PMAY, the stage-wise geotagged inspections that release instalments are done through the scheme's own official apps and portals by authorised officials or as the scheme directs. Fixlens is not affiliated with PMAY or any ministry, and it does not replace those apps. Use Fixlens for your own records and for sharing with family, contractors or lenders.

Why keep your own record

Your own stamped photos help you answer questions quickly, show a contractor or lender how far the work has reached, and keep a history of the house that does not depend on anyone else's system.

Stages to photograph

StageWhat to capture
Before work startsThe empty plot from the road, with neighbouring houses visible
Foundation or plinthThe full foundation outline and plinth level
LintelWalls up to lintel level from at least two sides
RoofRoof slab or roof structure in place
CompletionThe finished house from the front, with the family if they agree

How to take the photos

  1. Stand in the same spot each time, ideally the road in front of the plot, so stages compare easily.
  2. Wait for the GPS fix and check the accuracy figure on the stamp.
  3. Add a note such as "Plinth complete" so the stage is written on the photo.
  4. Ask before including people, and avoid photographing neighbours' homes up close.
